Liverpool fans have voted Harvey Elliott as the most likely Reds player to feature on TV show Love Island – and Elliott isn’t impressed.

The 19-year-old featured on the latest edition of ‘Call yourself a teammate?’ on the Liverpool FC YouTube channel. Competing against Fabio Carvalho and Trent Alexander-Arnold, Elliott was asked a series of questions about the Reds’ squad.

In one round, the three players were asked a series of Family Fortune style questions. Who had one hundred surveyed fans picked as the most likely Liverpool player to head into the Love Island Villa?

To his credit, Elliott answered quickly, and answered himself – correctly.

“I’d take that as a compliment,” quipped Carvalho, but his former Fulham teammate wasn’t having it. “You don’t fancy yourself on Love Island?” asked the presenter. “No!” replied Elliott with a look of what can only be described as disgust.

Liverpool youngsters show their competitive side

Some supporters aren’t keen on these kinds of videos being put out by the club. When Liverpool aren’t exactly having their best season, you can see their point.

But on the other hand, it’s always interesting to see the dynamics between the players. In this instance, it’s particularly pleasing to see Trent having a good time, after such a difficult campaign so far.

At times, the 24-year-old has seemed withdrawn and a little sulky. That looks a million miles from his thoughts here though, as he banters with his younger colleagues.

Unsurprisingly, the ultra-competitive Trent comes out on top over the four rounds. Seeing as he’s barely been at the club four months, Carvalho can be forgiven for bringing up the rear in this one.

The competitive edge can also be seen in Elliott, who is far from happy to lose to Alexander-Arnold.

With the World Cup break now virtually upon us, we might see a little more of this kind of content from Liverpool.

Without any meaningful games to play, but with plenty of the squad still together, it’ll be nice to see what the lads are getting up to.
