Manchester United have forced Liverpool to change their plan to sign Enzo Fernández, according to reports. It’s now a deal for January.
This comes from Record. They claim that Manchester United are high on Enzo Fernández and want to sign the player in January.
Enzo has quickly become one of the most exciting young midfielders in Europe. The Argentine only actually moved to Benfica at the start of the year but wasted no time in building a reputation for himself.
His inclusion in Argentina’s World Cup squad also pushes that reputation further and it seems United want to act. However, they’re not the only ones. Both Liverpool and Manchester City want the player.
Those two sides must change their plans to get him, though. United will push for Enzo this winter – if Liverpool want him, it’s now or never.
Man United and Liverpool chase Enzo Fernández
We’d put Enzo just behind Jude Bellingham as a top signing for Liverpool. He’s young, capable of delivering at the top level already, and seems to have everything in his game.

Now, the 21-year-old likely won’t be cheap, of course. He’s lighting it up with Benfica and a good World Cup could see his value skyrocket. But Enzo might still be a ‘bargain’ alternative to Bellingham – it all depends on what Liverpool want to do.
If they want Enzo and Bellingham, then it appears the Reds must move in January to sign the Benfica star. But if he’s merely an alternative, United are forcing Liverpool into a tough spot.
Because signing Bellingham is far from a guarantee. A poor league season could even rule it out but can Liverpool wait to find out in the summer? Then they risk missing out on both players and that could be a disaster.
There’s a big decision on the way, then.
