Four different bidders from Dubai have come forward about potentially buying Liverpool from FSG.
That’s according to The Athletic, who claim that the bidders have already ‘been in touch’ with John Henry about putting an offer together.
However, it’s claimed that when pressed for evidence of the finances behind the bid, no such evidence was displayed.
As a result, the conversations between the parties have reportedly ended.
Although it isn’t ruled out that a return will be made, The Athletic suggest that Liverpool’s new ownership is likely to be American.

Finally, back to the football
It isn’t even 48 hours since FSG’s vague announcement that they are looking for new investement at Liverpool.
Since then, the rumour mill has gone into overdrive. However, the overarching feeling does appear to be that the Reds new owners will hail from the land of their current ones.
There were plenty of interested American parties when Chelsea were up for sale in August. It stands to reason that those same parties would also like the idea of taking over at Liverpool.
To some, that will be a disappointment. To others, a relief. But to plenty more, the whole experience is an alienating one. The game against Derby tonight will offer some welcome distraction.

In times of upheaval away from the pitch, it’s helpful to remind us why we’re all here in the first place – the football.
Whoever owns Liverpool, it should always be about the football. This club is often derided for its cheesy slogans, but to those who follow it, Liverpool really does mean more.
To see it flouted about to billionaire backers is disconcerting and a little unsettling. But that’s the nature of the beast these days.
Whoever does manage to convince John Henry that they’re his rightful successor, they’ll be acquiring something special. Wherever they’re from, they’ll need to understand that this club isn’t any old club. This is Liverpool.
