Thiago sums up Mo Salah after the Egyptian scored both of Liverpool’s goals that beat Tottenham Hotspur 2-1 today. He’s one of the best.
Mohamed Salah stole the show on Sunday. He found both goals as Liverpool registered an all-important win – and both were fantastic finishes.
The first came from a well-worked move that found Darwin Nunez in the box. He set up Salah, who managed to control and finish in one movement.
And Spurs conveniently created Salah’s second themselves. Eric Dier made a complete mess of Alisson’s long ball, heading it against his own shoulder and into the Egyptian’s path. Liverpool were 2-0 up within seconds – another fine finish as Salah lifted it over Hugo Loris.
After the game, Michael Owen asked Thiago what he thought of Salah. The Spaniard has played with sensational players over his career, after all, for Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Spain. Liverpool’s no.11 is up there with the best, though.
“For sure, he’s one of the top wingers and forwards that I’ve played with in my career,” Thiago told Matchday Live. “And the consistency that he has, not just on the pitch but outside it.
“His work ethic, how he wants to help the team, help himself. He has the hunger that defines the best strikers.”
Thiago sums up Mo Salah
Thiago really has summed Salah up there. He’s a player with the hunger and work ethic to reach the very top. And he’s certainly done that.

Salah has worked incredibly hard to get to where he is. You can see that in his fitness levels, as well as how much he’s improved his game. This isn’t the same player we saw at Chelsea, after all. Far from it.
Thiago, who has starred with Lionel Messi, David Villa, and Robert Lewandowski across his career, puts Salah up there with the best. It’s enormous praise, really, but well deserved.
