Fabio Carvalho told Harvey Elliott he was right about Liverpool. The teenager had advice before Carvalho joined.
Fabio Carvalho and Harvey Elliott have had an unusual career path together. The pair of them came through the academy at Fulham, made their names as teenagers, before joining Liverpool.
Elliott, of course, moved to Anfield first. He grew up as a Liverpool fan and jumped at the chance to sign for the European champions in 2019.
Naturally, then, Carvalho talked to Elliott when Liverpool came calling earlier this year. It sounds as though the English teenager only had good words about the club, too.

Liverpool released a video this week where Carvalho and Elliott commentated on the Reds’ 2-1 win over Newcastle United. It was a game where Elliott played well and Carvalho stole the show – he bagged the 98th-minute winner at Anfield.
On watching back the celebrations, the Portuguese playmaker remarked on the passion inside the ground.
“That’s the thing about Liverpool,” Elliott said in response. “The fans, the players, they’re all together.”
“To be fair you did tell me that before I came,” said Carvalho. “I definitely remember that. This is something different.”
At least, we think ‘I definitely remember that’ is what he says – Carvalho really mumbles into the mic there.
What’s certainly clear is that Carvalho now agrees with Elliott’s take on Liverpool. We know the latter loves the club and has done for his entire life. It’s great to see that rub off on his teammate, then, as the two of them represent a bright future at the club.
The hope will be that they’re around for a very long time, then. We’ve already seen Jurgen Klopp use them on each wing at the same time – that’s something we might go on to see for years and years.
They’re incredibly talented players and destined for the top.
