Even a bid of £100m won’t be enough to secure the signing of reported Liverpool transfer target Bruno Guimaraes.
That’s according to 90min, who claim that the Brazilian midfielder is seen as being ‘priceless’ by Newcastle United.
Despite a whole host of top clubs tracking Bruno, Newcastle reportedly won’t sell at any cost. Liverpool are one of the teams credited as ‘following his progress,’ along with Real Madrid, Manchester City and Chelsea.
But all those team are reportedly set to be disappointed. The newly rich Magpies are said to have ‘no intention’ of letting their star man go, while it’s claimed that they’ll turn down even a ‘nine-figure’ bid, i.e. £100m.
As for the player himself, Bruno is said to be ‘aware’ of interest, but is neither ‘entertaining or encouraging’ it.

Liverpool should walk away from the Newcastle circus
It’s amazing what a couple of dozen good games in the Premier League will get you these days.
If someone had suggested to Lyon this time last year that Bruno was a £100m player, they’d have laughed you out of the room.
That’s not to say that he wasn’t highly thought of. The £30m or so that Newcastle signed him for was widely accepted as being a huge coup for the North East club. But £100m would have been absurd.
Fast forward a year and an impressive Premier League run of form and it still sounds equally absurd.

There’s no doubt that Bruno is an excellent player. His manager, Eddie Howe, recently called him ‘outstanding’ via Sky Sports. Together with Jude Bellingham he would go a long, long way to sorting Liverpool’s midfield out.
For that kind of fee though, Liverpool shouldn’t bother.
From Newcastle’s point of view, this is the big benefit of not having to worry about finances. With bigger clubs circling, many other middling Premier League teams would be feeling the pressure.
But Newcastle have no need to sell their best players. They are comfortably able to pay wages such as the ones to be earned higher up the food chain and can promise an upwardly mobile project. Good for them. But Liverpool don’t need to get entangled in this one, there are other, cheaper options out there.
