BBC Pundit Chris Sutton predicts seven goals in Liverpool vs Leeds United this weekend. The game at Anfield ‘could get messy’.

Liverpool host Leeds United this weekend in a game where both sides desperately need something from it. The visitors would settle for a draw, of course, but for the Reds, this has to be a win.

Chris Sutton certainly sees them getting it, too. He predicted the game for the BBC, believing it ‘could get messy’ for Leeds here. The scoreline? He’s going with 6-1 to Liverpool.

“I don’t think Leeds’ poor form is all on Jesse Marsch, and I think it is harsh that the fans have turned on him as quickly as they have done, but they really need a positive result at Anfield,” wrote Sutton.

“Liverpool have been a ‘Jekyll and Hyde’ side all season and I keep getting them wrong – after they beat Manchester City and West Ham, going to bottom-side Nottingham Forest felt like an open goal for them, but they did not turn up.

“They are at home this time, though, and they put in a really strong performance at Ajax in the Champions League on Wednesday.

“So, again, I am going to say the Reds will win comfortably and find the spark they have been missing for months. If they do, then things could get messy for Marsch and his side, because their defence is a real cause for concern.”

Sutton predicts Liverpool vs Leeds

We feel for anyone trying to predict a Liverpool game this season. They’ve beaten Manchester City twice, lost to the bottom team in the Premier League and are impossible to guess in any given game.

They could lose to Leeds. Let’s get that out of the way. Marsch could see his side score a couple and there’s a very good chance that they take the lead at Anfield/

Liverpool might not score at all. But maybe they’ll hit nine. This could just be anything and seven goals? Sure, that could happen. We’ll hope the Reds get six of them, but honestly, we’d settle for four.
