‘Really well’: Liverpool’s chief scout is convinced they have a 19-year-old with a ‘big future’ on their books

Liverpool’s chief scout, Barry Hunter, predicts Conor Bradley’s future in football. The 19-year-old is shining with Bolton.

Liverpool sent Conor Bradley out on loan this season, with Bolton Wanderers his destination. It was a brave decision by everyone, dropping down to League One in order to secure a brighter future.

Failure, after all, would essentially end any top-flight aspirations for Bradley. Any worries quickly disappeared, however, as the youngster thrived from the get-go, earning rave reviews for his performances.

Now Liverpool’s chief scout, Barry Hunter, has weighed in on Bradley’s future in football. He sees the right-back going far in the game.

“Conor is doing really well,” said Hunter, per Belfast Live. “It’s a brilliant move for him, it’s a great place to go and play.

“He’ll play games, get minutes and play regularly, he’s settled straight in.

“Conor’s a great boy, great family and he’s got a big future in the game.”

Conor Bradley’s future

Bradley has long been tipped for a bright future at Liverpool but that’s not to say there aren’t obstacles in his way. Trent Alexander-Arnold is daunting competition for any young right-back, given he’s only 24 himself.

That was enough for Neco Williams to depart this summer – he would never get the regular football he craved. Bradley will always run into the same problem unless he’s willing to wait quite some time.

And now there’s Calvin Ramsay to worry about, too. He arrived from Aberdeen this summer and while he’s yet to feature, all signs suggest he’s an exceptional talent.

Bradley, then, has a lot of work to do. All he can truly focus on is performing to the best of his abilities, though, and he’s certainly doing that at Bolton. Keep it up and he’ll earn a more significant loan move next season at the very least.

Earning a place at Liverpool is extremely difficult, of course. Bradley is seeing that first hand but all the talk is that he does have the ability to do it. This time next year, perhaps it’s Ramsay feeling the pressure to keep his spot – it’s up to Bradley to make that happen.
