Mohamed Salah’s body language was all wrong in Liverpool’s defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday afternoon.
That was the view of BT Sport commentator Jermaine Jenas. Covering the game at the City Ground on Saturday, Jenas said the Liverpool star looked ‘lethargic.’
“He’s just been off it, he’s been a bit lethargic, his body language hasn’t been as sharp. He’s just not been in the game at all,” said the commentator.
Salah was restored to the central position where he caused Manchester City so many problems last weekend. But he was a shadow of the player that scored the winner that day. Not good enough.

Salah typifies pathetic Liverpool performance
Jenas was absolutely right with his analysis today. Salah had absolutely zero impact on a day where Liverpool badly needed him.
Without Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota, Liverpool were leaning heavily on their No.11 to lead the line.
Unfortunately, Salah never really looked up for it. Playing alongside Roberto Firmino, he looked a million miles from the player we’ve seen over recent games.
It was a return to the kind of ineffective display we’d got used to seeing so far from Mo this campaign.

With the rest of his teammates desperately off their game too, Liverpool more than deserved their defeat.
You have to wonder where Salah goes from here, now. After getting himself back into form with four goals in three games, he looked back to his best.
But today’s game showed that he still has plenty of work to do. Everyone can have an off day, of course they can. But for Liverpool’s top goalscorer and highest earner, he has to do far, far more on a day like this.
An utterly horrendous display from Liverpool and Salah today. Utterly woeful, and an enormous set back on a season that can’t end quickly enough.
