Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha would love to join Liverpool when his contract expires next summer.

That’s according to Calciomercato, who claim that the 29-year-old ‘really likes’ Jurgen Klopp’s team.

Zaha has been in good form in the Premier League this season, scoring five goals in nine games. With a contract due to end, he’ll be in demand next summer.

But according to this report, Liverpool have got an advantage on other potential suitors. The Ivory Coast international can reportedly see himself in the Reds team.

Zaha open to Liverpool move

This could be an interesting option for Liverpool. In normal times, Zaha’s cost would put him well out of the Reds reach. But with his contract coming to an end, he’ll be much more attractive.

Nevertheless, as a result of his lack of a transfer fee, his wages are still likely to be prohibitive. On top of that, Liverpool don’t really need another left-side forward.

But still, it isn’t often that a player like Zaha is available for nothing. He’s been mercurial for Crystal Palace over the last nine years and could add something to Liverpool, no doubt.

The former Manchester United man was called ‘unstoppable’ by pundit Clinton Morrison in The Daily Mail for his display for Palace on Tuesday night. He’s also been labelled as ‘better than Dejan Kulusevski’ by TalkSPORT’s Gabriel Agbonlahor.

Those two pundits add their voices to the many who have waxed lyrical over Zaha in the last decade.

It remains a bit of a mystery as to why no top teams have taken a punt on him over the last handful of years. His struggles as a young player at United may have put a few off, but he’s proved himself since then.

There’s little doubt that he’s good enough to play some kind of part for Liverpool. The Palace man has given them enough trouble down the years to show that.

Whether or not Liverpool are attentive to his situation is another matter, though.
