£65m reported Liverpool target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is said to be ‘one the same level’ as Kevin De Bruyne. That’s according to a teammate.
CalcioMercatoWeb reported last week that Liverpool are in for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic. The Lazio midfielder could be available, but for around £65m.
It’s safe to say that there will be a race for the Serbian, though. Milinkovic-Savic is in fantastic form this season and teammate Ciro Immobile believes he’s playing ‘on the same level’ as Kevin De Bruyne.
“Trust me, Sergej Milinković-Savić is magic,” says Immobile, per Fabrizio Romano. “He’s on the same level as Kevin de Bruyne.”
Romano also claims that the midfielder would cost around £65m.

Milinkovic-Savic is certainly playing brilliantly. As Romano points out, he has four goals and seven assists in 12 games this season. Any team on the planet would want that.
Is he as good as De Bruyne? No. No one is, if we’re being honest and the Belgian might be the world’s best player right now. But that’s not to talk down Milinkovic-Savic.

The 27-year-old would slot into any team – we’re just not sure about the price. £65m is a lot for a player who will be 28 in January. There’s also no guarantee that he fits into a Premier League side, which is a worry. You’re looking at a two or three-year period before talk of replacing him starts.
That’s not very long for a big fee. Especially with that lack of guarantee that Milinkovic-Savic would click with Liverpool. In short, it’s not a transfer we really see happening.
As good as he is, the Reds will likely chase Jude Bellingham above all. Beyond him, they’ll almost certainly want someone younger than 28 next year – even if it’s only two or three years younger.
