Jurgen Klopp had no time for comments by Didi Hamann this week. The former Liverpool midfielder ‘doesn’t deserve’ acknowledgement.
Jurgen Klopp didn’t like being asked about Didi Hamann in his Tuesday press conference. A Sky Sports journalist wanted a reaction on comments the former Liverpool midfielder made this week.
“I trust that they’ll know where the spark is going to come from but whether it’s the end of an era?” Hamann said on talkSPORT.
“I wouldn’t write them off, but my imagination doesn’t let me see where the spark is going to come from in the next few weeks.”
Klopp, though, wasn’t in the mood to address anything by Hamann. The Liverpool boss quite plainly lacks respect for the player-turned-pundit.
“A great source!”said Klopp in response to a question. “Well respected everywhere.
“[Being a former Liverpool player] doesn’t give you the right, especially when you have no idea. I actually think Didi Hamann doesn’t deserve that you use his phrase to ask me a question.
“Do me a favour and ask your own question.”
Jurgen Klopp on Didi Hamann
Well, ouch. Hamann has made a habit of saying controversial things about Liverpool over recent seasons – a lot of which is demonstrably false.

And admittedly, saying it’s the end of an era after a couple of months of poor form isn’t a good look. We can understand why Klopp didn’t want to give those comments the time of day, really.
Because what is he supposed to say? Liverpool may lack ‘spark’ right now but it’s a matter of figuring things out. That’s all Klopp can do and he’s busy trying to make things click together again.
So we wouldn’t expect Klopp to address anything from Hamann again. There’s absolutely no respect there and honestly, the latter has earned that reputation himself over the last couple of years.
