Ibrahima Konaté is already thinking about finishing his career with Liverpool. The Frenchman feels the club has ‘everything’.
Ibrahima Konaté believes Liverpool is the kind of club that you finish your career at. It’s a big statement from a player who’s only 23 and has been on Merseyside for under 18 months.
Still, he believes Liverpool has ‘everything’ you’d want and that there isn’t really a destination beyond.
“Today I am at Liverpool, and the truth is, I hardly see a superior club,” he said, per the Liverpool Echo. “When you are here, you have everything: a great club, a great history, always in the running to win the Champions League, the Premier League and all the trophies with magnificent supporters.
“I’m 23 and it’s a club where I could end my career. This club is among the top three clubs in the world. But you also need quality to finish your career here!”
Ibou Konaté could spend career with Liverpool
Well, we’ll hope this does come true as it would suggest that Konaté fulfills his potential as a world-class defender. There truly haven’t been many centre-backs who come through the club and look as good as he does at this age.

In fact, we already think Liverpool miss Konaté. Injury has kept him out of games this season and he’s only now making a return. But with the Reds looking shakier than they have in years, it feels as though the Frenchman has been a big miss.
Hopefully, he can get fit quickly and find some form as Konaté would improve Liverpool. His performances to end last season showed that – the Reds have an elite talent on their books and one who truly could be a rock in their defence for the next decade.
The fact that Konaté seems willing to do just that is a wonderful thing.
