Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones won’t be fit to play against Brighton this Saturday.
That’s according to journalist Ben Dinnery. Taking to Twitter, Dinnery claimed that all three of Jones, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will miss the game for Liverpool.
The journalist also suggests that Andy Robertson will once again be forced to sit out with a knee injury. Kostas Tsimikas will deputise for the Scot.
There is good news too, though. As per Dinnery, Ibrahima Konate could be ready to make a return to the matchday squad.
Jones misses another return date
There had been some hope from Liverpool that Jones would be back in training before this weekend’s game.
Unfortunately, that looks to have been wishful thinking on the Reds’ part. The 21-year-old looks set to continue his period away from the team.
It must be frustrating for Jones who hasn’t been able to build on a solid, if slightly tricky season last time out.
What makes it even more frustrating is that it doesn’t seem possible to nail down a return date. If Jones could put his focus on a date or a match, it might make things easier.

As it is, he’ll just have to wait until he’s given the green light by the medical team. Hopefully that won’t be long.
With Jordan Henderson now back from injury and Thiago in super form, Liverpool’s midfield issues are easing.
As a result, it might be best to let Jones have an extended break to ensure his current issue doesn’t return. The last 18 months have been stop-start for him and he needs to put that behind him once and for all.
As Jurgen Klopp said via liverpoolfc.com, on his day, Jones can be ‘incredible.’ To allow him the tools to do that, Liverpool must do all they can to make sure these injuries don’t become career defining. Get back soon, Curt.
