Here’s our early predicted Liverpool lineup vs Brighton for Saturday. The Reds have tired players to consider.

Liverpool finally return to action this weekend as they host Brighton at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp hasn’t put out a team since September 13th – postponements and an international break combined to keep the Reds off the pitch.

But we’re nearly back, with just days to go before Liverpool try to get their Premier League campaign on track. And that means some big decisions waiting for the boss.

There are the internationals to consider, of course, with some players missing games. That freshness could see starts, while the midweek game against Rangers will need some thought, too.

So with that in mind, here’s what we think Jurgen Klopp will do.

Early predicted Liverpool lineup vs Brighton

Defence

Alisson Becker is a certainty in goal, providing he doesn’t pick up an injury this week. Liverpool don’t have another ‘ready’ goalkeeper, with Caoimhín Kelleher barely back training.

Trent Alexander-Arnold missed England v Germany. It means he’ll have had a week off – and that should bring a start. Joel Matip hasn’t played in the international break, either, and will surely get the nod alongside Virgil van Dijk.

Andy Robertson has an injury, as no one could possibly forget, meaning Kostas Tsimikas almost certainly plays at left-back. There could be a lot of football coming his way.

Midfield

Fabinho didn’t start for Brazil in the break and that should leave him fresh enough to start for Liverpool. He’s the Reds’ only holding midfielder, for one – that makes him a necessity.

Jordan Henderson only played a couple of minutes for England and we imagine that means he’s okay to start. Thiago didn’t meet up with Spain, which essentially guarantees that he starts.

Attack

Egypt allowed Mohamed Salah to return early for Liverpool – he’ll be good to go from the off. Roberto Firmino didn’t make the Brazil squad, which means he’ll likely start here.

And we think Diogo Jota gets the nod over Luis Diaz. Jota, labelled a ‘brilliant’ player earlier this year, didn’t start the first game for Portugal and his lack of football this year should mean he’s fresh.

Luis Diaz, on the other hand, will likely start twice and has to travel back from South America. We think starting Jota makes the most sense as a result, with the ‘electric’ Diaz facing both Rangers and Arsenal next week.
