Darwin Nunez has been featured on a new mural outside Anfield, which represents Liverpool’s attacking talent over the years.
As per liverpoolfc.com, the mural has been installed to “celebrate the Reds past and present forward players.”
Painted on the hoardings outside the Anfield Road stand expansion site, the mural features 14 different Liverpool attackers.
Nunez isn’t the only one from Jurgen Klopp’s current squad to make it. All of Mohamed Salah, Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz and Roberto Firmino are celebrated too. The recently departed Sadio Mane and Divock Origi also made the cut.
Those seven are painted on one half of the mural, with the other half representing some names from glories gone by. The seven chosen for that particualr honour are Ian Rush, Sir Kenny Dalglish, John Aldridge, Dirk Kuyt, Luis Suarez, Fernando Torres and Robbie Fowler.

Nunez and Diaz handed mural inspiration
This is an interesting project and one that’s sure to brighten up the current building site outside Anfield. Murals have become a big way of expressing admiration for footballers and Liverpool boast some of the best around.
As far as this one goes, there’s some pretty hefty goal scoring artillery present.
All together, these 14 players have scored a whopping 1,466 times between them for Liverpool. Naturally, the side containing the players of days past make up the majority of these goals.
When you’ve got Ian Rush in your number, you’re kind of cheating. The Welshman alone scored 346 for the Reds, no one has found the net more. The others weren’t too shabby either though, scoring 998 in total, including Rushy’s.

Klopp’s current men pus Origi and Mane are some way behind on 488. But given that Nunez has so far scored just twice for Liverpool and Diaz only ten times, there’s so much more to come.
The inclusion of the two South Americans is a nice touch, though. Hopefully it will give them a bit of inspiration as they try to emulate what some of the faces alongside their own have done for the club.
Elsewhere, it’s hard to grumble with the other selections. A certain Michael Owen may feel hard done by but then Dirk Kuyt never joined Manchester United, did he.
