Prospective new Liverpool signing Arthur Melo could be included in The Reds squad to face Everton this weekend.
That’s according to The Daily Mail journalist Dom King on Twitter. King claims that should Arthur’s loan deal be completed today, he could play for Liverpool on Saturday.
The 26-year-old reportedly feels ‘fit enough to play’ despite not having featured for Juventus so far this season.
In his update, King also says that Liverpool made the approach for Arthur last night, after Jordan Henderson’s injury.
Liverpool finally add depth in midfield
It wouldn’t seem likely at this stage that Jurgen Klopp would throw Arthur in for a Merseyside Derby debut.
Having said that, Klopp is short on options as Liverpool gear up for their trip to Goodison.
Henderson hasn’t been ruled out just yet, but the signing of Arthur would suggest he may be set for a spell out.
The 32-year-old would join Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Thiago Alcantara and Naby Keita on the side-lines. Curtis Jones has returned to the squad though, and is joined by James Milner, Fabinho, Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho.

With Elliott playing well, Fabinho essential and Carvalho proving something of a talisman, Klopp doesn’t need to panic.
But he now has a little peace of mind that Liverpool aren’t on their last legs.
Arthur’s arrival will add some much-needed depth to Liverpool’s midfield options. He’s a potentially high quality addition on a risk-free short-term loan.
But as the long awaited midfield signing, there will be some pressure on Arthur. There’s no need at this stage to add to that by throwing him in at the deep end on Saturday.
