'Incredible' player to have big role again: Early predicted Liverpool lineup vs Newcastle United

Our early predicted Liverpool lineup to face Newcastle United sees one ‘incredible’ star play a key role. The Reds will be in good spirits.

Liverpool will finally go into a Premier League game with some momentum. Fresh off a 9-0 win over Bournemouth, they’ll host Newcastle United on Wednesday evening.

But Jurgen Klopp has another crucial consideration here. Liverpool travel across Stanley Park to face Everton on Saturday in the early kickoff. Fitness concerns enter the fray, then, as the Reds try to keep players fresh for what is certainly the ‘bigger’ game.

Of course, Klopp had that in mind against Bournemouth with a few early substitutions. That gives us a bit of a clue as to who starts at Newcastle.

Our early predicted Liverpool lineup vs Newcastle

Defence

Alisson Becker is a certainty in goal, of course. Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez are the only fit centre-backs, but we wonder if Klopp opts to rest Gomez. The only reason we don’t think he will is Gomez’s pace up against certain Newcastle attackers.

Trent Alexander-Arnold starts on the right – he’s the only right-back available. Then there’s left-back. We think it might be Kostas Tsimikas, with Robertson getting the midweek off ahead of Everton.

Midfield

It’s hard to leave Fabinho out and we don’t think Klopp will.

Jordan Henderson is an interesting one, though. He should likely be rested but he did go off early on Saturday. On top of that, we think Klopp will want him on the right of the midfield three to help Alexander-Arnold on that flank. Newcastle have a lot of pace in behind there – the cover will be worth it.

That leaves the left of the midfield three. Usually, we’d say Harvey Elliott but as it’s the left, we think Fabio Carvalho will get a start.

Attack

It’s asking a lot of them but Luis Diaz and Mohamed Salah will likely play another 90 minutes here. There aren’t any other forwards.

And that also means Roberto Firmino starts in the middle. This is a huge game for the Brazilian, with Darwin Nunez seeing out his suspension here. The Uruguayan will be back to face Everton. Firmino, though, has a chance to well and truly make himself no.1 in the position after a fantastic display last time out.
