Roma legend Francesco Totti has claimed that Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is worth up to £170m in the transfer market.
Speaking to DMC TV channel via King Fut, Totti said that the Liverpool star is one of the best players in the world.
“Salah is humble, polite, and he helps everyone. He’s a great player and a great human being. You got to love him, he’s never done anything inappropriate and he’s one of the best footballers in the world,” said the 45-year-old.
The two players were teammates in the Italian capital between 2015 and 2017. Salah was actually the man who replaced Totti for his 786th and final game for Roma. That was also Mo’s final game for the Giallorossi before joining Liverpool.
“I knew he would go far in the football world,” continued Totti. “He was very good during his time in Roma and he was always improving.” When asked how much he would pay for Salah in the transfer market, the World Cup winner aimed high. “150 to 200 million euros (£127m – £170m.)”

Totti’s valuation is probably along the kind of lines that it would take for Liverpool to part with their Egyptian King.
Despite him having signed a new contract this summer, that kind of money would be too good to turn down. Salah is already thirty and Liverpool could certainly reinvest the money smartly.
But fall short of a nine-figure sum and Liverpool would laugh the offer out of the room.
Regardless, there’s no suggestion that any team would now be willing to take an ambitious run at Salah. He was made for Liverpool and Liverpool was made for him.
As a result of his new contract, Liverpool no longer have to worry about any sides trying to tempt their no.11 away.
The topic may of course be revisited once again in a couple of years time. But for now, Liverpool can rest easy. Unless another team come up with a gigantic offer, Mo won’t be going anywhere until at least 2025.
Totti’s words should be a reminder of what a special player we’ve got. The Italian was one of the best players of his generation. For someone as good as him to be singing the praises of Salah, tells you everything you need to know.
