Chelsea now want Brazilian teenager Endrick, according to reports. He’s a player Liverpool have looked into this summer.
This comes from the Athletic. They claim that Chelsea now have Endrick at the top of their shortlist after completing a deal for Carney Chukwuemeka.
Endrick is one of the hottest prospects in Brazilian football – if not the outright top prospect. The teenager burst onto the scene this year as a 15-year-old, producing some spectacular moments.
The Blues appear to be pushing for young stars to build their future on and Endrick would certainly be that. They can expect some fierce competition, however.
Chelsea want Endrick
Endrick shone for Palmeiras at the 2022 Copinha – a state championship for Under 23 players. It’s a highly-respected youth tournament and not one that’s usually dominated by 15-year-olds.
The young striker won the Best Player award, however, as Palmeiras lifted the trophy. Endrick also produced this in the Quarter-final:
And so as we say, Chelsea can expect some competition for Endrick as he’s carrying a massive reputation right now. Journalist Jorge Nicola believes Liverpool are one of those who want the player.
“Liverpool have sounded out the possibility of making a proposal in the future,” he said, translated by Sport Witness. “But didn’t go further, for now, than a question.”

Sky Sports are another who claimed Liverpool want Endrick – one of several who do. Though, it’s worth mentioning that those two reports came when the striker was still 15.
On turning 16, Palmeiras signed Endrick to a new contract that raised his release clause to £51m, per Fabrizio Romano. The Brazilians may well ask for the entire amount in order to sell their prized asset. And that’s an awful lot of money for a kid.
So if Chelsea are serious and willing to pay that, we can’t imagine Liverpool will join them. After another fantastic year, perhaps the Reds would entertain the price in 2023. Right now, though, there just isn’t enough solid proof that Endrick is worth that.
And Liverpool don’t tend to take risks.
