Mohamed Salah dominated a Liverpool shooting exercise in the Reds’ latest Inside Training video. The Egyptian looks electric.
Liverpool put out their latest Inside Training video on Saturday as the Reds continued their camp in Austria. They’ll face RB Salzburg on Wednesday, of course, before returning to England for the Community Shield on Saturday.
But right now, it’s all about getting the player sharp and in some rhythm. That means plenty of training exercises built around being sharp and Liverpool showed them off with the Inside Training video.
The standout clip for us saw Mohamed Salah absolutely dominate the shooting exercise. This exercise had a goal either end of a small pitch, with an attacking player needing to receive a variety of passes and score in either goal. After two or three passes, a defender comes alive to apply constant pressure on the attacker.
Clips show Luis Diaz, Harvey Elliott, Darwin Nunez and Salah all have a go – and the Egyptian simply looks fantastic. He scored every single time (the only player to do so) and consistently left Sepp van den Berg for dead as the Dutchman tried to mark him. That came just after Van den Berg did a solid job on Diaz.
Mohamed Salah looks fantastic in training video
Perhaps this shouldn’t really come as a shock. Jurgen Klopp talked on Saturday about Salah looking sharp and ‘extremely fit’. He probably doesn’t need a pre-season – he could start the season immediately, says the boss.
But it’s still fantastic to see just how great the Egyptian is shaping up ahead of the campaign. He appears ready to take on the world and we can’t wait for him to lineup against Manchester City in a week’s time.
Because if Salah is going to kick-off the season in this kind of shape, we could be on for another very special season.
