Calvin Ramsay is in the Liverpool squad as they head to Germany to face RB Leipzig in a friendly this evening.
As seen on Ramsay’s Instagram stories, the 19-year-old posted just one word as he shared a picture of his training bag aboard the plane. “Soon,” wrote young right-back with a picture of the Austrian flag to go with it.
The use of the flag suggests that Ramsay won’t play any part against Leipzig in their home stadium this evening.
Instead, he’s likely gearing up for the subsequent training camp as The Reds head for a week in Austria after today’s game.

Ramsay finally ready
It must have been a frustrating couple of weeks for Ramsay as he missed out on going on tour with his new club.
He would have been desperate to make a good impression, and it’s disappointing that he was left out.
Having completed just one day of pre-season, Ramsay was subsequently injured. In his stead came 17-year-old Isaac Mabaya, who certainly took his chance with a couple of impressive displays in Asia.
But with Neco Williams now finally out of the picture, the second choice right-back slot is firmly in Ramsay’s hands.

Tonight will surely come too soon for him, but Liverpool supporters will now be hopeful of a glimpse of him before the season starts.
After tonight’s match-up with Leipzig, Liverpool play RB Salzburg before the Community Shield a week on Saturday. They then entertain Strasbourg at Anfield before the Premier League curtain raiser at Craven Cottage.
As he’s unlikely to get too many minutes in the league this season, it’s important that Ramsay gets up to speed as soon as he can. That hasn’t been possible so far, but barring any further setbacks, he can now really feel like a Liverpool player.
