Alisson Becker was in top form during Liverpool’s open training session in Bangkok yesterday.
As seen on LFCTV’s Inside Pre-season video, Liverpool coaches applauded as the goalkeeper made a couple of fine finger-tip saves.
After some short volleyed passes with goalkeeping coach Claudio Taffarel, Alisson then launches himself to his left to save a fierce drive. The Brazilian just gets there to tip the ball onto post.
“Ooosh!” exclaims the 29-year-old as the coaches react with applause. Alisson follows that up with a comfortable save high to his right, before another flying stop to his left brings even more enthusiastic applause from the watching coaches.

Ali looking good after what was arguably his best season at Liverpool. What a player.
Alisson picks up where he left off
There’s another point during the video where Alisson really demonstrates his full shot stopping ability, with a brilliant double save.
It must be difficult for goalkeepers in these kind of scenarios. The presence of a crowd during the session likely encourages forwards to go for goal even more than they usually would.
The goalies can be left constantly picking the ball out of the net as they’re beaten time after time. Not Alisson though, our number 1 truly is the best around.
With his usual number 2 Caoimhin Kelleher injured, Alisson is leading a slightly different looking cohort of ‘keepers in Bangkok. Marcelo Pitaluga has also moved away on-loan, meaning two spots needed to be filled.

Those have been taken by young Liverpudlian Harvey Davies and Polish stopper Fabian Mrozek. There are high hopes for both players, and what better education than to watch the very best in action at close quarters.
Both will do well to get anywhere near Alisson’s level in the future. But if they can glean from him some of his technique and training rituals, then they’ll give themselves every chance.
There are many players we’re looking forward to watching at Liverpool in the new season. Alisson may just top the lot, though. He was arguably The Reds’ star performer last year and on this evidence, he could be getting even better still.
