‘That’s changed’: Jurgen Klopp says Liverpool have three ‘really interesting’ players who’ve yet to make their debuts

Jurgen Klopp has claimed that Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay have ‘changed the dynamic’ of Liverpool.

Speaking to the Blood Red: Liverpool FC YouTube channel, Klopp was asked about his new signings who he labelled as three ‘really interesting’ players.

“We brought in with Darwin, Fabio and Calvin, three really, really interesting players, and that changed the whole dynamic in the team,” said the Liverpool manager. “That’s what you need. I cannot invent football every day new and tell the boys “by the way, last we played like this now we play completely different” just to keep them on their toes, no.

“In our case we can help ourselves a little bit by brining new boys and changing the dynamic and giving it all a fresh start and that’s exactly what we will try.”

Liverpool’s careful squad planning pays off

For some supporters, they would like to see Liverpool doing a little bit more business in the transfer windows. If you want to see four or five new players every year, then you’re following the wrong club.

Instead, Liverpool have build their squad slowly, with minor tweaks along the way.

In truth, this is exactly how any football club should aspire to be run. If you’re having to bring in several new players every year then something clearly isn’t right.

It may not be crazy exciting, but Liverpool don’t have to head into every season wondering if new players will gel together. They have a core group of players who have been together for many years.

When you add the sprinkling of quality that Liverpool have this summer, that’s enough to change up the feeling around the squad.

There’s no dressing up the fact that Liverpool lost one of their most influential players this summer. With Sadio Mane gone, there was always going to be a slightly different feel to the squad.

The Reds moved quickly and decisively to tie up one of the most sought after young forwards in the game – Darwin Nunez. Add in the youth and potential of Carvalho and Ramsay and you have the fresh new feeling that Klopp alludes to.

More changes will come as Klopp’s successful team of the late 2010’s comes to an end. But those need to be a gradual and heavily planned. So far, they have been, and Liverpool are primed to head into another season with an excellently balanced squad.
