Liverpool appear to see a very bright future in Liga Portugal. Yet another deal shows further evidence of that.

Liverpool look ready to send Owen Beck to the Portuguese side Famalicao. That’s according to various reports, including from Goal’s Neil Jones. It’s a deal that comes a little out of nowhere.

English youngsters don’t usually go abroad, after all, while Liga Portugal isn’t recognised as one of the top five leagues in Europe. Famalicao aren’t a particularly big team, either, and so what are Liverpool hoping for here?

Well, it’s the latest in a string of examples that Liverpool really rate Liga Portugal highly. They appear to see a very bright future there and the Reds will hope that Beck is a part of that.

Liverpool to send Owen Beck to Liga Portugal

Liverpool rate Beck highly and always have. They won’t send him on loan somewhere lightly, especially when they could almost certainly have found somewhere closer to home.

Instead, they’ve chosen Portugal. That comes in a year where Liverpool have invested heavily in that league, making their two major signings from there.

Luis Diaz arrived in January, of course, and hit the ground running. He was starting the Champions League final just a few months later, having pushed his way up the pecking order.

And Liverpool then moved this summer to sign Darwin Nunez – the best player in Liga Portugal. Quite honestly, that award could have been split between Diaz and Nunez if the Colombian had stuck around.

It’s quite obvious, then, that Liverpool see a very bright future in Liga Portugal. They’re happy to base their future around it, be it their major first-team investments or sending a bright young talent on loan there.

It’s a league we might just see more business in over the next few years.
