Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain couldn’t believe just how slow Liverpool teammate Adrian was on the treadmill yesterday.
A small number of Reds players reported back to the AXA Training Centre for pre-season on Monday. Among them were both Oxlade-Chamberlain and back-up ‘keeper Adrian.
LFCTV were on-hand to document the day’s proceedings, and they managed to catch a humorous encounter between the pair.
“One thirty-one mate, what’s going on?” laughed Oxlade-Chamberlain as Adrian jogged lightly on the treadmill. “Too much paella or something, what’s going on?!”

After a difficult end to the season, it’s nice to see Ox back with a smile on his face. Hopefully he can use the next few weeks to show Jurgen Klopp that he’s right to keep him around for the season ahead.
Business as usual at the AXA Training Centre
It was billed as a big day yesterday as Liverpool returned to training. However, with only a handful of Klopp’s squad back, it felt very much like the calm before the storm.
New signings Calvin Ramsay and Fabio Carvalho were both present for the first time. But otherwise it was business as usual.

We didn’t see the likes of Ibrahima Konate, Roberto Firmino and Thiago Alcantara, all of whom were named as being part of the cohort returning yesterday (liverpoolfc.com).
Fingers crossed there are no injury issues there. Thiago did have to pull out of the Spain squad at the end of the season with a knock. Hopefully the lack of visibility was more a case of staggering the player’s returns, rather than anything else.
As day two gets under-way today, no doubt we’ll see some more familiar faces descend on the AXA.

For Oxlade-Chamberlain, it represents a chance to show why he should get more game-time next season.
For Adrian, his main remit will be settling in the new boys and ensuring standards remain high across the squad.
Neither are Klopp’s most important players on the pitch. But by keeping spirits and standards high, they can still contribute effectively.
