Porto forward Otavio is still on Liverpool’s list of targets this summer, but they’ll have to do battle with Aston Villa to sign him.
That’s according to Maisfutebol. They claim that the 27-year-old is attracting plenty of interest from England, including from Liverpool.
As well as The Reds, Leeds United are reportedly interested in Otavio. Meanwhile, Villa are preparing an offer of around £26m plus £4.3m in add-ins.
The offer from Villa Park is said to be expected ‘in the coming days.’

Interest high in Otavio, but perhaps not from Liverpool
Otavio’s has been a name that has circulated around Liverpool over the last couple of weeks.
After shopping big in Portugal twice during the last six months, there have been rumours that The Reds will return yet again.
The forward isn’t exactly the kind of profile that Liverpool tend to go for, though. At twenty-seven he’s a little older than the kind of targets the club usually spend that kind of money on.

It also feels as though, with other clubs said to be in the running, Liverpool’s name is being used as a way to drum up additional interest.
On the other hand, Liverpool could potentially do with a player to serve as back-up on the wing or in midfield. As a versatile player with international pedigree, there aren’t too many such options out there for a relatively decent fee.
It would still be a surprise to see Liverpool pull the trigger on Otavio. But that isn’t to say a move should be ruled out completely.
