Report: Liverpool want to sign 'amazing' attacker who's just won the league, think his price is about to drop

Liverpool are hopeful that their good relationship with Bayern Munich will see them lower their asking price for Serge Gnabry.

That’s according to Sport, who claim that Liverpool are now ‘confident’ that Bayern will reduce their demands.

As a result of Sadio Mane’s recent transfer between the clubs, Liverpool’s relationship with the German club is said to be ‘fluid.’

And this could reportedly help to grease the wheels of another deal. It’s claimed that Liverpool have already held talks with Gnabry’s representatives to find out what his plans are.

However, as they always seem to recently, The Reds will face competition for Gnabry from Real Madrid. The European Champions are also said to have spoken with the 26-year-old’s agents as they search for a possible replacement for Marco Asensio.

Gnabry with a point to prove in the Premier League

Reports emanating from England are consistently suggesting that Liverpool’s summer business is finished. Despite this though, overseas publications continue to link The Reds to new transfers.

Gnabry’s isn’t a new name to be added to that list. The Germany international has been linked to Liverpool since April. The fact that he is yet to renew a deal with only a year to run on it does make him a fascinating option.

If Liverpool were to still be looking to do a bit of summer shopping, Gnabry should be on that list. He is experienced, relatively prolific, and can play across the front three.

The former Arsenal youngster has also run rings around English clubs in European competition. Gnabry famously scored four away to Tottenham in the Champions League in 2019/20

He followed that up with a double at Stamford Bridge in the knockout stages. Then Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud called Gnabry’s performance that night in West London ‘amazing’ via Metro.

The German champion clearly has a point to prove against Premier League sides. If he’s available for a decent price, Liverpool should take advantage of their recent dealings with Bayern to gain an upper hand.
