'I know he will': Jurgen Klopp is already certain about one thing Darwin Nunez will do at Liverpool

Jurgen Klopp made an early Darwin Nunez prediction when talking about his new forward on Tuesday. The Uruguayan joins Liverpool long-term.

Liverpool confirmed on Tuesday evening that Darwin Nunez has joined the club. The 22-year-old signs a ‘long-term’ contract in a deal that, per the Athletic, will cost the Reds an initial £64m.

It’s a massive outlay, then, as the Reds boost their attack while simultaneously future-proofing things. Honestly, there’s just so much to love about this transfer.

But what can the fans actually expect from their new no.27? Well, according to Jurgen Klopp, they can all prepare to be excited by Nunez.

Jurgen Klopp makes an early Darwin Nunez prediction

“[Nunez] has all the pieces we look for,” said Klopp, per Liverpoolfc.com. “He can set a tempo, he brings energy, he can threaten space from central and wide areas.

“He is aggressive and dynamic with his movement, he plays without fear, he’s powerful.

“I know he will excite our supporters.”

Klopp is confident that Nunez is the kind of player to get fans off their seats, then. That’s certainly the impression he’s given every time he performed in the Champions League last season.

Anyone who watched Nunez could see how he’d benefit any team on the planet. As Klopp says, he’s an aggressive, physical player who will run for 90 minutes and terrorise defences.

At the very least, you get someone who delivers the little things and makes the game easier for everyone else. Defences can’t afford to ignore Nunez – he won’t allow them to.

And this is before you throw in his 32 goals for Benfica last season. Nunez really does feel like the total package up top and while he’s a more traditional striker than Liverpool are used to under Klopp, he should fit right in.

We can’t wait.
