Reported Liverpool transfer target Calvin Ramsay has scored an incredible volley during a private training session.

Ramsay was training with Aberdeen based coaching company PlayitLoveit. Going off evidence seen on their Twitter page, the 18-year-old right-back may not need any extra coaching on how to hit a ball from range.

Coming onto an outrageous overhead floor pass, Ramsay absolutely belts a volley into the top corner of the goal.

It’s great technique from the player who looks to be on his way to Liverpool. Smash a couple of those in at The Kop end and he’ll do just fine on Merseyside!

Aberdeen double their asking price

The Reds’ move for the Scottish FWA Footballer of the Year has gathered pace over the last couple of weeks.

A transfer had started to look inevitable. But reports from The Daily Mail yesterday suggested that Aberdeen are playing ‘hardball’ with Liverpool.

There had been claims that Liverpool could tie up a deal for Ramsay for as little as £4m. That has now been thrown into doubt as the Scottish side look for an £8.5m package.

Reports that the teenager was due for a medical at Anfield this week now look a little doubtful. However, Liverpool are said to have identified Ramsay as the man they want to back-up Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Once Liverpool set their sights on a target, they don’t often let them go.

They may eventually have to pay a little more than they were hoping for Ramsay. But all things considered, it still looks like a great deal for an extremely talented young player.

If this little peek into his skills is anything to go by, he’s got the kind of technique that can be nurtured into something special.

Hopefully negotiations run along smoothly and we see him in Liverpool red next season.
