Manchester United youngster goes and sends public message to Liverpool's Mohamed Salah on Instagram

Manchester United teenager Alejandro Garnacho has sent a message to Mo Salah on Instagram, showing his admiration for the Liverpool star.

Posting on his personal Instagram account, the 17-year-old uploaded a shot of he and Salah alongside a heart emoji.

Tagging Salah in the post, it’s clear that the United star has a lot of love for the Liverpool legend.

It may be a misstep in the eyes of his club’s fans, but it just goes to show how widely respected and admired Salah is by young players today.

Who is Garnacho

Garnacho is a young player with a big reputation at United. After joining from Atletico Madrid in 2020, he already has a couple of first-team appearances under his belt.

Despite being born in Madrid, he plays for Argentina – his mother’s country of birth. And it’s on the international stage where he has really blossomed.

With five goals in just four appearances for the Argentine U20 side – incidentally managed by ex-Red Javier Mascherano – he has already been called up for the first-team squad.

He looks like being a super talent. But if he manages to get anywhere near Salah’s talent, he’ll do well.

Salah the idol

Salah’s reputation as one of the very best footballers on the planet is well-earned and well-established.

But even so, it does come as a surprise to see one of the players of such a fierce rival so openly commend him.

As a young player raised in Spain, Garnacho can be forgiven for not seeing how this could alarm United fans. From his point of view, he likely just sees the chance to rub shoulders with an incredible footballer.

And who can blame him? For a young winger trying to make his way in the game, Liverpool’s Egyptian King is the ultimate example.

United supporters may not like to admit it, but right now, Salah is one of the very best around. Even their own players can’t help but bow down.
