Jose Enrique has shared his dream Liverpool squad for next season, including four new faces.
The former Reds defender shared a post on Twitter showing who would be in his first and second choice eleven for Liverpool next year.
As well as including man-of-the-moment Darwin Nunez in his first eleven, Enrique also snuck Jude Bellingham into the midfield.
Two more new faces were included, but both only made Enrique’s second team. Bukayo Saka took his place on the right of the forward line with Scottish teenager Calvin Ramsay playing behind him.
Dreams becoming reality
The first eleven that Enrique dreams of actually doesn’t look too far from being a reality. Should everything go smoothly with the Nunez signing, only Bellingham would need to be added.
That looks like more of a project for next season, but it isn’t impossible he’ll end up at Liverpool.
In terms of the second eleven, Ramsay’s signing also looks to be as good as done for Liverpool. That would leave just Saka for this to become a reality.
Even without those two ‘dream’ signings, Enrique can merely swap out Bellingham and Saka for Naby Keita and Fabio Carvalho.
It perhaps weakens the side slightly, but the fact remains that Liverpool now have an incredibly deep squad.
That’s without taking into account the likes of James Milner who will also add more than capable back-up. With young players like Kaide Gordon also able to supplement the squad, Liverpool are looking fearsome.
Of course there may be some changes before the season starts. We’re still in early June and plenty of things can happen between now and the window shutting.
Liverpool are looking to get their business done nice and early though. Klopp will want things more or less sorted by the time the squad reconvene in July.
