Harry Kane named Liverpool when asked a question about ‘crazy’ football fans this week. The Tottenham Hotspur striker was on video.
Harry Kane’s season is over but that doesn’t mean he can escape the football. The England captain was out this week but found himself taking random questions on the street.
One of those came from someone filming a TikTok video. They wanted to know what the “hardest city to play in, with the craziest fans” was. Kane thought about it for a second before finding an answer.
“What’s that, hardest city to play in? Maybe, Liverpool, I reckon,” said Kane. You can watch the video below:
Harry Kane on Liverpool fans
Short and sweet but we’ll always recognise praise from opposition players. Assuming this was meant to be praise, of course – we’re certainly taking it that way.
Liverpool have long had a wonderful reputation for the atmosphere at Anfield, of course. It’s something that’s carried the club for decades now and you can define some of the club’s greatest even moments by that atmosphere.
Nothing shows that better than the European Cup and Champions League. From the glory of the 70s and 80s as Liverpool tore through Europe, to the runs of 2005 and 2019 – this is where you see the best of the club.
And so it’s nice to see that recognised by Kane. He’s played at some of the biggest and best stadiums across Europe, for one, and has seen it all at the Premier League level. To pick Liverpool says quite a lot, we think. It’s easy for a Red to say it but much more difficult for an opponent.
Not that you’d catch an Everton or Manchester United player saying similar.
