Liverpool have been handed some good news today as Fabinho reported for training at the AXA Training Centre.

As seen on Liverpool’s live stream of their session on Twitter, Fabinho was seen running freely alongside his teammates.

It’s a huge boost for Liverpool after the midfielder had missed the last four games of the season with a hamstring injury.

Unfortunately though, there was no sign of Thiago Alcantara as he continues to recover from an Achilles issue.

Fabinho returns

The sight of Fabinho back in training will be such a relief to Liverpool fans. With the Champions League final just around the corner, the Brazilian looked like he could well miss the game.

Despite his claims that he would ‘definitely’ be ready, he was not involved in any capacity for the last Premier League game of the season.

That had suggested that it could be a little closer than Fabinho was letting on. However he should be given enough time to prove his fitness between now and Saturday’s final in Paris.

The 28-year-old has at times looked rusty when returning from any time out injured. But Saturday is simply too important for him to miss.

No sign of Thiago

On the flip side of Fabinho’s return, Thiago was absent from Wednesday’s session.

Whilst obviously being disappointing news, it doesn’t necessarily rule him out of the final just yet. With three days still to go, the Spaniard could simply just need an extra day to get over the issue.

However it obviously isn’t a good sign either. Jurgen Klopp is due to speak to the press later on today where we’ll no doubt get a clearer picture.
