Darwin Nunez has turned down two teams from the Premier League as the race to sign him this summer heats up.
That’s according to RMC Sport, who claim that the Liverpool-linked striker has now rejected both Manchester United and Newcastle United.
Nunez reportedly turned down the moves due to his desire to play in the Champions League next season. The Uruguayan scored twice against Liverpool in the competition this season. Any new move is claimed to be dependent on involvement next year too.
RMC report that United were ready to offer around £68m for Nunez, but the player is, for now, not interested.

Good news for Liverpool
Liverpool have been reportedly keeping an eye on Darwin Nunez for some time (Sky Sports). That was even before he impressed against them in the Champions League.
But impress he most certainly did. The 22-year-old scored two beautifully taken goals against The Reds and was a constant threat over the two legs.
Jurgen Klopp spoke publicly about Nunez in the run-up to the second leg at Anfield – he looks to have caught the Liverpool boss’ eye.

That of course is no guarantee of any concrete interest from Liverpool. The price quoted could also prove prohibitive. But at a time when they could do with ensuring a succession plan for their forward line, Nunez would be one of the names at the top of most supporters wishlist.
Liverpool can offer what both United and Newcastle cannot next season – Champions League football. The Reds will also be one of the favourites for the competition.
That promise would surely be enough to attract Nunez to Anfield. Whether or not Liverpool are convinced enough to pay almost £70m, we will have to wait and see.
