AS Monaco midfielder Cesc Fabregas would like to see Aurélien Tchouaméni sign for Liverpool. The Frenchman is heavily linked with a move.

Cesc Fabregas gave an interview to the AFP this week. He talked about his time with AS Monaco, which is coming to an end this summer after two and a half years. One of the topics he naturally discussed was the young talent at the club – and he name-dropped Liverpool.

“When I came, [then-manager] Thierry [Henry] and [ex-vice president] Vadim [Vasilyev] also asked me to help grow the young players,” said Fabregas, per RMC Sport. “It was an important role.

“Today, I feel like I have won the respect of this younger generation. I hope I have helped. We like each other.”

“I will continue to follow them, talk with them. I would like to see [Youssouf] Fofana, [Sofiane] Diop or [Aurélien] Tchouaméni at Bayern or Liverpool!”

Aurélien Tchouaméni could sign for Liverpool

Of the three players Fabregas names, Tchouméni is unquestionably the one that stands out. There’s a belief that he’ll leave Monaco this summer, with two clubs reportedly trying to sign him.

All kinds of outlets report that Liverpool and Real Madrid are those clubs. AS, for instance, lays out that Monaco want £60m for their highly-rated midfielder and both the Reds and Los Blancos are looking into it.

It does make sense that Fabregas would help Tchouaméni ends up at Liverpool, then – he’ll hardly want him going to former rival Real. We’ll happily join him in that, too, as we’re huge fans of the Frenchman and believe he’d be an incredible signing.

Tchouaméni is unquestionably one of the best young midfielders in the world right now. Liverpool could secure their midfield for a long time to come with his signature. Listen to Fabregas, we say.
