Report: Aurélien Tchouaméni is now one of Liverpool's biggest priorities this summer

Liverpool are prioritising a transfer for Aurélien Tchouaméni, according to reports. The Frenchman is in high demand.

This comes from LFC Transfer Room in an interview with journalist Sacha Tavolieri. The Belgian claims that Aurélien Tchouaméni is now one of Liverpool’s utmost priorities in the upcoming transfer window.

Tchouaméni is widely expected to leave AS Monaco this summer, with Liverpool heavily linked. Real Madrid, too, also want the player.

The likes of AS, for instance, claim that both teams really want Tchouaméni. Monaco ask for around £60m, however – and Real aren’t going to pay that. Liverpool can win the race by meeting that figure.

The Times, too, believe Liverpool want Tchouaméni and it’s starting to feel as though there’s real truth in this one. The Reds could well move to sign one of the world’s leading young talents next month.

Liverpool want Aurélien Tchouaméni transfer

The hype around Tchouaméni is entirely justified and if Liverpool want a midfielder this summer, there are few better options. In fact, there may be no better options with reports that Jude Bellingham isn’t on the market at all.

Paul Pogba calls his compatriot ‘extraordinary’ and it’s hard to disagree. The 22-year-old is a defensive powerhouse, whose athleticism can dominate the middle of the park. At the same time, he’s got the technical ability to score incredible goals – as he showed recently.

Throw in that he’s a young player who can already play the holding midfield role so well and it’s easy to see why Liverpool would prioritise him. Holding midfielders typically peak in their 30s – so there’s an enormous amount of potential in Tchouaméni.

This appears to be the one to watch this summer and Tchouaméni could be the next star signing at Liverpool. In fact, we can’t remember the last time the Reds signed a young player like this. The Frenchman is one of the biggest talents around and beating Real to his signature would be a serious sign of intent.
