Liverpool have reason to believe they can secure a £15m transfer fee for Nat Phillips, according to reports. The defender returns to Anfield this summer.
This comes from the Liverpool Echo. They claim that Liverpool see a £15m transfer fee on the horizon for Nat Phillips. The 25-year-old is currently on loan with Bournemouth, where he secured promotion this season.
In fact, Liverpool have already made money from the centre-back. Bournemouth’s promotion triggered a bonus that took the total loan fee to £1.75m. Any transfer would be on top of that, of course.
And the Reds believe that they’re looking for at least £15m this summer. That’s because of their belief that interest is only growing in Phillips – it’ll be more than just the Cherries hoping for his signature. Liverpool can then drive up his price, assuming they’re right about multiple clubs getting involved.
With any luck, the total cash for Phillips in 2022 could near £20m.
Liverpool want big Nat Phillips transfer fee
Phillips played a big role for Liverpool last season. This time last year, he was a regular in the Premier League as the Reds finished third. He earned praise from all corners, too, with Jurgen Klopp labelling him ‘absolutely incredible’.
But they knew he may not stick around. Competition is now fierce at Anfield and reports last summer also had his price at £15m. No one paid it, however.

Perhaps six months of top-level football wasn’t enough to convince sides. Phillips now has another six months at senior level, though, with his Bournemouth spell. You’ve also got to say that the two teams to have consistently played the 25-year-old have achieved real success, too.
So we imagine Liverpool are right and that someone will pay £15m to sign him this summer. It could even end up looking like a bargain.
