Ralf Rangnick has instructed Manchester United to sign reported Liverpool transfer target Konrad Laimer.
That’s according to 90min, who claim that the 24-year-old is now a potential transfer target for United, following Rangnick’s recommendation.
Laimer is out of contract in 2023. He’s reportedly a target for clubs such as Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. The Austrian has also been linked with Liverpool move over the last week.
90min claim that with just over a year to run on his deal, an extension is ‘not likely’ over the summer.

Queue forming for Laimer
Laimer has emerged as a viable option for a number of teams seeking midfield reinforcements this summer window.
One of those could of course be Liverpool. The Reds interest was reported by Kicker last week. They also threw Borussia Dortmund into the list of potential suitors.
That’s a pretty meaty list of clubs chasing the Austria international.
There’s good reason for that, too. Still just twenty-four, he has played 159 times for current club RB Leipzig, including 17 appearances in the Champions League.

He has 19 caps so far for Austria and claims to model his game on Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.
United’s need for midfield reinforcements is inarguably far greater than Liverpool’s. But Laimer should be available for a decent price due to his contract situation and could be a shrewd signing.
There’s always room for someone with an engine like Laimer’s in the middle of the pitch. International teammate Marko Arnautovic once described the amount of ground he covers on the pitch as ‘crazy’ via bundesliga.com.
He may have been recommended to United, but if Liverpool rival them in their interest, there’s surely only one winner there.
