Liverpool’s way of winning the race for Aurélien Tchouaméni is actually very straightforward – pay the asking price. The Reds have the power here.
This comes from AS. They claim that both Liverpool and Real Madrid want to sign Aurélien Tchouaméni this summer. It’s something reported elsewhere, of course, and these two truly do seem to lead the race.
But Liverpool can carry a pretty vital advantage here. AS report that Real will not pay AS Monaco’s asking price of around £60m. They want to get it under £45m before considering the move.
Tchouaméni does want to move this summer and it appears Monaco will sell. Liverpool, though, can eliminate Real from the race if they show a willingness to pay the money.
AS Monaco set Aurélien Tchouaméni price
Yes, it sounds very obvious but it does appear that Liverpool won’t need to fight Real very hard and could actually win this race through financial power for once. £60m for Tchouaméni, after all, could be a remarkable investment if the Reds pull it off.
The worry would usually be that Real flex their muscles, too, but it sounds as though they won’t. They don’t see the £60m value in Tchouaméni, opening the door for Liverpool.
7 Footballers Who Were GENUINELY Irreplaceable
We really hope the Reds do see it and pay that money. Tchouaméni is a fantastic player who showed this weekend that he can do it all.
The Frenchman could be a key part of Liverpool’s team for years to come, while the immediate depth he’d bring would be incredible. Honestly, it’s difficult to see a downside – or even a better way to spend £60m right now.
So we hope this is the interest gaining pace. Tchouaméni is available this summer and by the sounds of it, he’s there for Liverpool’s taking – if they meet that price.
