Liverpool have now alerted Monaco to their interest in signing Aurelien Tchouameni this summer.

That’s according to 90min. They claim that both Liverpool and Real Madrid have ‘spoken’ to Monaco to make their intentions clear.

Talks have reportedly not led to an official bid being made by either club as of yet. It’s claimed that the Principality side will hold out for £50m for Tchouameni. Madrid meanwhile, would ‘ideally’ not like to go over around £34m.

Liverpool are reportedly joined in their interest by Chelsea, but a deal for the London club is said to be ‘difficult.’

Manchester United and Manchester City are also said to be ‘keeping tabs’ on the situation. However, it’s claimed that both clubs have ‘other targets ahead of him.’

More battles with Madrid to come?

If Madrid have their way this evening, it won’t be the only time they face off with Liverpool in the coming weeks.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side will face The Reds in the Champions League final later this month if they can squeeze past Man City tonight.

If they can’t, perhaps that will give Liverpool a slight edge in their battle for Tchouameni.

The eyes of the football world will once again be on Liverpool for the biggest game in club football. Any player watching on would surely be desperate to be a part of it.

Madrid won four out of five trophies between 2014 and 2018, but they haven’t been to the final since.

Liverpool on the other hand look like they’re building a squad to do it year after year. If the opportunity arises for a young player like Tchouameni to be a part of that, why would they refuse.

Last time Liverpool made the Champions League final they barely strengthened at all in the summer that followed.

One or two players are likely on the way out of Liverpool, though. There are also some contract situations that need to be resolved. As a result, things could be different this time around.

The club has never been more attractive to players at the top of the game. Liverpool should use that while they can to secure some of football’s top talents.
