Villarreal v Liverpool Semi Final Leg Two - UEFA Champions League

Mohamed Salah posts instant six word reaction after Real Madrid stun Man City

Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah reacted on Twitter as Real Madrid confirmed their UEFA Champions League final place by beating Manchester City. It’s a repeat of the 2018 showpiece.

Mohamed Salah took to Instagram to react as Real Madrid shocked Manchester City in their UEFA Champions League semi-final on Wednesday. Los Blancos somehow overcame almost certain defeat.

As the clock ticked into the last minute, City boasted a 5-3 aggregate lead in the tie. That should have been that but Rodrygo Goes somehow scored twice in two minutes to send things into extra-time.

From there, City struggled to get any foothold in the game. Real once again beat the odds and a Karim Benzema penalty sent them through to the UEFA Champions League final.

They’ll now play Liverpool, much as they did in 2018 in an equally-dramatic game. And one Red, in particular, is thrilled with the news.

Salah was surprisingly open last night when he admitted that Real Madrid were the side he wanted to face in the final. Everyone else associated with Liverpool wasn’t quite as ready to admit that.

“I want to play Madrid, I have to be honest,” he told BT Sport. “City is a really tough team, we’ve played against them a few times this season.

“But if you’re asking me personally, I would prefer Madrid. Because we lost in the final in 2018! So I want to play against them and hopefully win it.”

Well, he got his wish and doubled down on it with an Instagram post in the immediate wake of Real’s win.

“We have a score to settle,” he wrote. Andy Robertson liked the post – suggesting he does see things the same way.

And so Salah gets what he wants as Liverpool prepare for another Champions League final with Real Madrid. After the injury, the mistakes, and the disappointment four years ago, the Reds have their chance for revenge.
