Report: Juventus now looking to sign Liverpool back-up player who Klopp says has 'lots of quality'

Juventus are planning a bid for Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas, according to Italian publication Juve Dipendenza. It is thought that they will offer £11 million for the Reds fringe player.

The Old Lady are planning some new signings during the summer. They won’t be winning Serie A this season and currently sit eight points off the top spot with four games remaining.

Tsimikas is considered a backup player at Anfield. Andy Robertson is one of the world’s best left-backs and his first-team chances have been restricted.

He checked in on Merseyside in August 2020 from Olympiacos and has made 28 appearances in Jurgen Klopp’s team.

During 2021/22 he’s made 21 outings, registering six assists, including two during a 3-3 draw against Benfica in the Champions League.

Juventus could be on the lookout for a replacement for Luca Pellegrini. The report claims that he will leave the Serie A outfit this summer and a new signing will be sought.

Your Club's SURPRISE Star This Season

Tsimikas, 25, is now at an age where he will fancy regular first-team football. That probability looks slim and he will surely consider a move should it arise this summer.

Klopp should avoid letting Tsimikas leave Liverpool

Although the player himself might want to play football, Klopp has to consider what is best for his squad. Letting Tsimikas leave would leave him short and he’s proved a useful backup.

This season has seen Klopp’s team challenge on all four fronts. The quadruple is still very much on and in order to maintain such a bid, the squad players prove vital.

Tsimikas is still at a nice age to make an impact at Liverpool. He works hard, uses both feet well and crucially, when called upon he often takes his chance.

Furthermore, Klopp has previously said that Tsimikas has a lot of quality and that certainly bodes well.

Klopp is the master when it comes to knowing what is best for the team. With that in mind, he must think very carefully about the future of Tsimikas.
