PSG superstar Neymar has taken aim at former Liverpool left-back Fabio Aurelio for comments made about him during an interview.
After scoring against Marseille on Sunday, Neymar took to Instagram to blast Aurelio for what he perceived to be unfair criticism.
“Morally, I’m tired of these former players who are there and who just open their mouths to talk,” said Neymar via AS. “Five minutes of interview and only started talking about the lives of others. If you want to criticize, criticize. But talking like that is not possible.”
The 30-year-old also posted a screenshot of the trophies he has won throughout his career.

Neymar boasts an unbelievable 173 million followers on Instagram. After being publicly called out, it’s fair to say that the former Liverpool defender will have made himself rather unpopular with a certain section of football fans.
What did Aurelio say
Neymar’s fury appears to stems from an interview Aurelio gave to Goal over the weekend. During the interview, the man who played 134 times for Liverpool says that Neymar should be disappointed that he hasn’t yet won the Balllon d’Or.
The 42-year-old questioned whether ‘some things are more important than the game’ to Neymar. He also claimed that the PSG star could ‘manage his life better.’

It’s surprising that a player with all the hype of Neymar should feel the need to respond to a much lower profile pundit.
Aurelio was a fine player who could have been even better without his constant injuries. He won two La Liga titles with Valencia as well as representing Liverpool with distinction.
However, he was hardly a household name in European football. The former left-back also never made a senior appearance for Brazil.
In contrast Neymar is one of the most visible footballers on the planet. He cost PSG £200m in 2017 and has played 117 times for his country, scoring 71 goals.

It seems bizarre that after netting an important goal for his team, the comments of Liverpool’s former Brazilian was the thing on his mind.
Not the kind of feud we expected to see today, but we’re backing Fabio all the way!
