Liverpool are interested in signing Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans this summer.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who now claim that The Reds are one of a number of clubs who ‘like’ the Belgian.
Liverpool are joined by Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in their interest of the 24-year-old.
Juventus are also ‘on the trail’ of Tielemans. However, the midfielder reportedly has ‘a greater chance’ of staying in England and moving to one of Leicester’s Premier League rivals.

Tielemans on the market
Tielemans isn’t a new name to be linked with Liverpool. The Belgium international was reportedly of interest to The Reds during last summer’s transfer window (Voetbal24).
According to Leicester Mercury, the player had a price-tag of £70m slapped on him at the end of last season.
In the end, Tielemans stayed at Leicester where he is having another decent campaign. Brendan Rodgers’ side have been hit-and-miss all season but Tielemans has kept a high level throughout.

Crucially, his contract is set to move into the final year, expiring in the summer of 2023. With no new agreement forthcoming, there’s no way Leicester could demand anything close to last years asking price.
This could allow Liverpool to swoop in and sign Tielemans for a cut-price fee.
The right time to leave
Tielemans has long been mooted to be ready for a move to one of Europe’s top teams. It was something of a surprise that he opted to join Leicester on loan in January 2019. The Foxes then moved to make the deal permanent for a reported £40m.
Since then, he has helped The Foxes to two fifth-place finishes and scored a sensational winner in the FA Cup final last May.
Now in his third full season with the Foxes, and about to turn twenty-five, it feels like the right time for him to make the next step.

Whether that’s with Liverpool or not, we shall see. One man who would love to see him in Liverpool shirt is Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp.
Redknapp spoke about Tielemans to Sky Sports via Football Daily after Liverpool’s opening day win over Norwich City earlier this season. The former Reds captain said he’d ‘do everything’ to bring the player to Anfield.
We’re not sure we’d go that far. But with his contract situation and subsequent price-drop in mind, he could be an option to explore for Liverpool this summer.
