PSG, Manchester United and Chelsea have now been named as the front-runners to sign reported Liverpool transfer target Darwin Nunez.
That’s according to The Athletic today. They claim that the Uruguayan striker is ‘set to be one of the summer’s major transfers.’
The report claims that Benfica are ‘open to the sale’ of their prized star once the transfer window opens. Nunez will ‘anticipatedly’ be on the market for around £58m this summer.

Although it’s claimed that PSG, United and Chelsea are in the strongest position, The Athletic report that ‘many clubs’ are interested in Nunez.
Liverpool’s Champions League opponents would reportedly like a deal to be concluded ‘early in the window.’
Liverpool could miss out on Nunez
As expected with the two teams facing each other in Europe, there has been a fair bit of talk around Nunez and Liverpool recently.
Sky Sports journalist Melissa Reddy said last week that the 22-year-old had been ‘looked at for a long time’ by Liverpool (Sky Sports).

That came off the back of Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp’s comments about the player ahead of the game between the clubs.
“He’s a good striker, the next one from Uruguay. I don’t know how they play together Cavani, Suarez and him in one team,” Klopp said via Liverpool FC on YouTube.
“(He’s a) top, top boy. The goals he scored, the one against Ajax in Amsterdam, a massive one, a big one, in the group stages as well, so he’s not shy.”

Since then Nunez has added four more goals, including one against Liverpool, to take his seasons tally to 31. The striker is coming into Wednesday’s second-leg with The Reds off the back of a hat-trick at the weekend.
He’s in great form and looks ready to do some damage to Liverpool at Anfield mid-week. If he does, perhaps Klopp and Liverpool will be inclined to push a little harder for his signature in the summer.
