Liverpool have been told to ensure nutritionist Mona Nemmer doesn’t exit the club when Jurgen Klopp departs in 2024.
That’s according to The Athletic. They claim it has been put to them that keeping Nemmer should be a ‘priority’ for Liverpool.
The nutritionist has had a massive impact at Liverpool since joining from Bayern Munich in 2016. Her impact is such that losing her would be seen as an incredible blow to the club.

Glowing praise from Klopp
Nemmer will be a familiar face for a lot of Liverpool fans. As well as travelling with the squad to every game, she has also garnered public admiration from Klopp in the past.
Speaking to liverpoolfc.com last summer, the boss was effusive in his praise of the work done by the dietary expert.
“When I found Mona, obviously I was from the first moment really, really happy because the one thing is the knowledge about something, the other very important part of it is the passion you have for it,” said Klopp.
“Mona is obviously full of passion for that, full of knowledge as well. So it’s a perfect mix,”

The manager detailed the importance of Nemmer during the initial Covid lockdowns in 2020. Such is her influence, Klopp claimed that Liverpool couldn’t have made it through the shutdown without her.
“I’m not sure if we would have got properly through it without her, to be honest,” said the 54-year-old. “I wouldn’t have thought I could respect more what she is doing, but during the pandemic I learned a completely different level.”
What is Nemmer’s role
The importance of Nemmer’s role at Liverpool can’t be underestimated. According to an interview the German gave to Goal, her influence stretches from putting together dietary plans for each individual player, to even the layout of the canteen.
Every little detail is taken care of in terms of what players should and shouldn’t be eating and they are given one-on-one tailor made sessions.

Given that Liverpool are one of the most intense teams ever seen in the Premier League, fuelling the players is a crucial job.
There will obviously be dismay from every Liverpool fan when Klopp calls time on his career at Anfield. A lot has been made of Liverpool’s excellent succession planning in recent years, but how to replace the manager will be the ultimate test of that.
Liverpool will have to hope that they’re not left to look someone to replace for the excellent Nemmer at the same time.
