Liverpool will have scouts at Fenerbahce vs Galatasaray this weekend to watch Arda Guler. The 17-year-old looks like a potential star.

It’s the biggest game in Turkish football this weekend as Fenerbahce take on Galatasaray. Biggest in terms of size, anyway – the latter’s terrible season means the teams aren’t exactly competitive rivals right now.

Regardless, it’s one to watch and Liverpool will reportedly have scouts there. Per Fanatik, they’re interested in Arda Guler of Fenerbahce and want to see what the fuss is about.

The 17-year-old is playing senior football this season and has the attention of big clubs. Both Arsenal and Bayern Munich want to watch him in Istanbul this weekend – they’ll have scouts there, too.

An impressive performance might just bring about a summer bid from someone.

Liverpool look at Arda Guler

Guler is still only 17 but keeps delivering this season. He’s now got two goals and two assists in the Super Lig – a pretty incredible rate considering he’s only played 197 minutes.

But this is a young player tipped for the top. Teammate Mesut Ozil certainly believes so. “You will be a world star,” he told the teenager, per Sporx.

And he very well may be. Very, very few players can deliver as Guler currently is at 17, let alone in a league as strong as Turkey’s. But the teenager really does look destined for the top – providing he gets the right development.

Liverpool will certainly back themselves to give him that. They’re building quite an incredible next-generation XI, believing they can turn prospects into stars.

Guler might fit right into that, if they can see off competition from Arsenal and Bayern. Though, if the teenager does impress against Galatasaray, other major clubs will force themselves into the race.
