Ray Parlour thinks Liverpool star Mohamed Salah could score twice against Manchester City

TalkSPORT pundit Ray Parlour has said that Liverpool player Mo Salah might come up trumps against Manchester City this weekend.

The Egyptian has gone four games without scoring and for a man with 28 goals, this season is something of a surprise.

His last goal from open play came in February during a win over Norwich and talk of a slump has started.

Liverpool put one foot into the semi-final of the Champions League last night with a 3-1 win over Benfica at the Estadio de Luz.

The Reds face a massive game against City on Sunday, with many people fancying the game to serve as a decider for the Premier League title.

Parlour doesn’t believe Salah’s form is of any real concern and has backed the 29-year-old to come good again in the near future.

He told TalkSPORT: “Every player has a bit of a dip during the season, it’s how quickly you come out of the dip.

“I wouldn’t be worried about that whatsoever. Sunday he could score two goals like that and suddenly they win the game.

“Yeah, there was a good chance for him when he toe-poked it but I think Klopp knows how good he is and how important he is.

“He might have a quiet word with him and say keep going, and get that little bit of confidence and belief in him again, but he wouldn’t be bothered about how he’s playing, I’m sure.”

Salah has been a real hero for Liverpool since he arrived at the club in 2017.

He’s helped the club to glory in the Premier League and Champions League, scoring 153 goals and registering 57 assists for the Reds.

Quality: Talk of drought for Liverpool man Salah is nonsense

Another Salah special is just around the corner and what a time it would be to get back on track against Manchester City.

Jurgen Klopp’s team have been relentless in chasing Pep Guardiola’s side down and the title race is firmly on.

Salah has scored so many big goals for Liverpool that it’s bizarre that people are even talking of him being out of form.

By his epic standards, he perhaps could do with a goal but as the saying goes, form is temporary and class is indeed permanent.

Liverpool have a massive game on the horizon and Salah’s next Liverpool goal is surely just around the corner.
