Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Andy Robertson has recovered from the illness that saw him miss Liverpool’s last game.
Klopp was speaking to the press via Liverpool FC on YouTube (18mins 15secs) ahead of Liverpool’s game with Watford. The manager said that Robertson was fit again after a spell out following a positive Covid test.
“Normal procedure, guaranteeing negative tests then going to Scotland playing 50-odd minutes, don’t know exactly,” said Klopp. “No, no, he (Robertson) is fine, fresh.”

Good news for Liverpool, then. It looks likely that Trent Alexander-Arnold will not be ready for tomorrow’s game. So at least The Reds will have one of their marauding full-backs on duty at Anfield.
Rest up Robbo
Should Robertson have been missing for a longer period for Liverpool, it wouldn’t have been as a big-a blow as it once would have.
There’s no question that the 28-year-old is still a key player for Klopp. But Kostas Tsimikas’ form since the start of the season has lessened the load on the left-back.

If Robbo isn’t quite up to full match fitness after missing a couple of games, the Greek will happily slot in for him tomorrow.
With respect to Watford, Liverpool should be able to win comfortably without Robertson for this one.
It’s more important that Klopp has the Scotland captain firing on all cylinders for the massive triple header coming up.
Liverpool have both legs against Benfica and the potential title-decider against Manchester City to come in the next two weeks.

If Robertson isn’t quite up to speed yet then Tsimikas should play. The game’s are too important to have anyone slightly under fitness.
But Robbo is as combative and competitive player you could find, you just try and keep him away from those games.
